1962: Born in Noordwijk, the Netherlands

1981: Finished Agnes College, Leiden, the Netherlands

1982-85: De Vrije Academie (psychopolis) in The Hague. Painting,drawing,videoart and performance.

1985: Carl Palm is very ambitious, goes to Paris to take private lessons, composition and colouring.

Works as a waiter at the Champs Elyssee to pay his lessons. Spends hours and hours in Cafe Costes and Philip Starck becomes his idol in that period together with all the painters from Musee D'orsay.

1986:Back in Holland being enormously inspired by Paris and more mature, Carl Palm starts to paint and paint but still isn't satisfied and restless he begins taking new lessons in Leiden at the studio of Fer Hakkaart. Leiden is then the place where he lives.

1988-90:works as a suppoost parttime at the Mauritshuis.To observe the old masters is like opening a candybox. In the same period Ger Lataster one of queen Beatrix's favourite artists, makes a giant and astonishing ceilingpainting for the Mauritshuis that really triggered Carl Palm for his later decorations in restaurants and private houses.

Begins selling watercolours topic large flowers, interiors to Axel Vervoordt. Mister vervoordt in that period is a toppeek humongous interior and antiques salesman. Decorates houses and appartments with fine arts, antiques and modern art.

His clientele is Paloma Picasso, Karl lagerfeldt etc. Carl Palm's works blend in perfectly.

1990: Big exhibition in Wassenaar. The exhibition is a great succes, sells everything.

In the same period still following art lessons at several teachers like Sjoerd Bras and Ab van Overdam.

 

1991:Returns back to The Hague makes a huge switch after decorating a wall at trattoria Da Toni's and was asked to decorate 4 restaurants in the following year.

1992; Carl Palm gets married to Marion Nijlant and becomes succesful in decorating many restaurants in The Hague and many other cities in The Netherlands.

1994: First big commission restaurant Juliana's at De Plaats in The Hague. Atmosphere: retro, artistic, classic and classy. Restaurant is still open, survived all trends.

1995: Returns back to oilpainting for a year and to take care of his born children Elisa and Rutger

1996-98: Restaurants, private houses and fashion boutiques like Mody mary In The Hague and Amsterdam ( P.C. Hooft )

1999; De Catacomben The hague. Partyplace restaurant in the dungeons of the old townhall in the heart of the city. The place is hip extravagant and kinky.

2000: Birth of David Palm.

Work ; Private houses works with Graziosi Progetti architect from The Hague to bring total design to the next step.

2001: Lots of work: The Buddha Bar, de Haagse Lounge( now Twittercafe being renovated but still with the old murals made by Carl Palm and other decorations.

2002: Y Mucho Mas: spanish restaurant in The Hague ( the pilot was Triana a small spanish restaurant also decorated by Carl 3 years earlier)

2003:Sabbatical returns back to oilpaintings theme: girls and sex.

2004: Decorates a large brothel in the red light district of The hague, style : the goodlife

2006-09: Private houses and two more brothels.

2009: Large mural for the company John v. Nierop b.v. decorates the works cantine, atmosphere publife in the fifties the lost century.

2011; After discovering social media at the end of 2010 Carl is again as motivated as a newborn artist to make a comeback resulting in a new series of paintings and other work who's theme is to evolve to the next step in evolution.
